Security Issues/ Bank of America Referral

26 October 2006 - 05:19 PM

I am sure others can relate. Often I suggest to someone that they consider setting up a Virtual Bank or Ing account and they immediately express concerns about online banking. Will it be safe? How do I know it is for real and not just a scam? In the past I have made the following points: 1) Call them and talk to the bank if you are worried about it, 2) most of the bank identity thefts seem to be occurring at small local banks who are trying to get into online banking, 3) online banks are in the business of online banking - they often have the most upto date security. For more responses email me at [email protected]

These replies do not always work. However, I have a tactic. I suggest that people sign up for a Bank of America online checking account. I have one and Bank of America pays a $25 per referral and the person opening the account gets $25. Bank of America is great because they let you fund your account by the mail. That way there is never a direct link from Virtual Bank or another online bank to your main checking account. Just link Virtual Bank and ING to your Bank of America Account, which is funded by mail. The only thing that you have to watch out for on the Bank of America account is that there is a $5 fee per month if you don't sign up for direct deposit. I found out that my company will let me deposit a small part of my check into my Bank of America Account.

If you want a Bank of America referral or more information on security issues and responses email me at [email protected] and put "Bank of America" in the subject line. Right now Bank of America is offerring $50 for setting up a savings account as well!

VB First then ING

I have a posting up for Virtual Bank and I suggest you do that one first. Virtual Bank offers you $20 for a $100 investment so that is a 20% return. ING Direct offers $25 on a $250 investment. That is a 10% return plus its $250. I suggest you do Virtual Bank first. See my posting on what to watch for.

If you want an ING referral email me at [email protected]

Put ING Referral in the subject line please. Good luck.

Virtualbank Fine Print

15 September 2006 - 03:16 AM

I have been using Virtual Bank for almost four months. I love it and I love the referral money. If you want a referral from me email me at [email protected]. Put VB Referral in the subject line. Its great because you get $20 for signing up friends and they get $20 as well. Plus, they get 4.6% on their savings.

I have read the fine print several times and I was mad when I made my first mistake. 1st mistake: don't refer someone until you know that they will absolutely do it. The bank sends 50 referrals and that is it. If one of your friends does not sign up you wasted a referral. Mistake #2 don't misspell an email address. They won't give you another referral. 50 is it and they all count. What you can do is go in and have them change the email address. Do this before you send another one to the right email address. I wasted one and found out the hard way. Mistake #3: I did not do it but mistake #3 is closing your account within 90 days. There is a $50 fee for it.

Anyways I hope this has been helpful. Email me at [email protected] if you want a referral.
