#19182 $50 bonus - Bank of America : Money Market Savings; Exp. - 12/31/2006

Posted by CarolinaPinball on 22 May 2006 - 07:05 PM in Expired bank bonuses

As much as I would love to say this is a great deal, I can not. Bottom line, you must maintain a min balance of $2500 (or be subject to $12 monthly fees) and the rate you receive for this is 0.55%. Assuming that you have to leave the account open for 6 months to avoid any early closure penalties, you are left with an effective annualized rate of 4.65%, if you can close it after three it jumps to 8.65% annualized rate, of course if you keep it open a full year you wind up with 2.65% return for the entire year, in a word YUCK! I would stick with the checking and savings account offer, it is a much better return on your investment and your time smile.gif

#19181 up to $9288 cash bonus from United Commercial Bank

Posted by CarolinaPinball on 22 May 2006 - 06:32 PM in General bank bonus discussion

RUN DON'T WALK FROM THIS DEAL!!! I spoke to a very helpful CSR at the bank not more than 15 minutes ago and she sent me the schedule. In a nut shell, it is a essentially a 5 year CD that you pay into over 60 months. There is no real interest rate, only the end of term bonus. If you ever fail to make the minimum monthyl deposit, or have to withdraw even $1 from your savings account then you are no longer eligible for the bonus. I ran the numbers and unfortunately this is what I found for two different scenarios.

Scenario 1 - Bonus = $9..288. You must open a checking account with at least $1500 in it, and also the UASP Account with $5000 and make $1000 monthly deposits for 60 months. The effective rate on this is 4.74%

Scenario 2 - Bonus = $1,928. Again a $1500 checking account and $5000 to start in your UASP, this one only requires a $100 monthly deposit for 60 months. The effective rate on this is 3.75%

I say forget this nonsense, and take advantage of all the free money Net Bank and Bank of America are throwing around these days smile.gif

Best Wishes from the Carolinas

$50 is not nearly enough to compensate someone for having to live in Kansas... just kidding around smile.gif

#18843 $60 bonus - Bank of America : checking; Exp. - unknown

What offer page? All I ever see is a place to enter a promo code then the next screen shows nothing.

Guys, I appreciate all the info that is put here, and I try and post things that have not been posted, however it is really annoying when I see a post for free money from my least favorite institution in the world but have no link to the offer page. Please help a BofA hater out here smile.gif

HOw about a link?  I am assuming BoA is Bank of America.

Why yes, yes it is.

Also, make sure you print out the offer page (or capture it as a PDF or screenshot). I've had to fight for my bonuses a couple of times because they claim that my application doesn't include any promo code... and they want ME to provide proof that it does.

#18595 $50 - HSBC : SmartChecking; Debit MasterCard; Exp. 4/23/06

Posted by CarolinaPinball on 16 February 2006 - 05:47 AM in Expired bank bonuses

This offer has been extended according to the CSR at HSBC. They do not know when it expires. Also, you don't have to be a new HSBC customer to qualify for it, you just can't have a checking account and debit card with them already. So if you are taking advantage of the 4.80% Savings account right now (if you aren't you should), you can still qualify for this account bonus smile.gif
