#20041 Yodlee Forum

Posted by aptvictoria on 15 September 2006 - 11:48 PM in Account aggregation

I just signed up for the Yodlee Forum. I can view the posts, but I never received the confirmation e-mail - which contains a link that you need to click to activate the account. I've sent two PM's to the Forum Administrator via their website without a reply. Going on two days now since I signed up!

#20022 6.01% for 3 months - new promo APY of Everbank interest checking account

When I tried to close the account they told me they need it in writing. I faxed them the request and they said that I have to wait 7 days. After 7 days they said they don't accept faxed requests and I would have to mail it. I filed a complaint with the banking department. I don't reccomend anyone put their money there no matter what rate they will pay

I don't particularly like the idea of banks wanting an up-front deposit before account approval. $1500. in the case of the EverBank FreeNet Checking product. First Internet Bank of Indiana plays that game as well. FWIW, the FreeNet Checking is up to 6.01%. I'm having second thoughts about submitting an application after this posters comments.

#20021 "Wire-able" Accounts

Posted by aptvictoria on 13 September 2006 - 04:59 AM in Bank lists by feature

I would like to find a list of high-rate-paying banks that allow for the wire-transferring-out of funds. ING doesn't. Nor EmigrantDirect or HSBCDirect (they allow in-coming). Bank of Internet doesn't allow international transfers. I suppose the list is rather short, of those that do, due to not many banks offering very high rates! EverBank On-Line does. The issue I have with ACH is funds availability - if the final destination is a foreign bank, i.e. ED-EverBank-Foreign bank.

#18388 Debit Cards/Check Cards

i think all gold and platinum cards come with car rental insurance of some sort...how come you need it to be an online bank though?

----------
Do any strictly-on-line banks offer Gold or Platinum cards? Or are Visa/Mastercard Check Cards currently their only product in this area? Perhaps because the business plan of most on-line banks revolve around the notion of minimizing non-essentials in order to offer higher deposit rates, they've not yet gotten around to offering these "value-added" types of offerings.

Do any on-line banks offer a debit card that includes free car rental insurance? A previous BM bank I used offered a Visa Gold (Debit) card that I used to use for such a purpose.

#18258 ScotTrade - For Sale?

Posted by aptvictoria on 04 December 2005 - 07:36 PM in Online Brokerages: general discussion

When is ScotTrade going to merge with a bank? I've head differing stories. Riney says "not gonna happen". Wall street rumors say they're a target being seriously looked at by more than one player.

#18257 HSBC's "Online Savings"

Posted by aptvictoria on 04 December 2005 - 07:12 PM in Online banks

HSBC's Online Savings Account rate is 4% (Minimum deposit amount - $1.00). Is this a gimmick rate or a temporary enticement to get people to sign-on? The reason why I ask is their Money Market Savings rate is .40%, minimum deposit amount - >$50,000!
