I just receieved an email from ING Direct mentioning a "winter save up sale." I wonder if this is their answer after seeing a LOT of people move money to HSBC or Emigrant Direct.

Does anyone have an idea what this "save up sale" is?

Starting today, ING Direct will have a "Winter save up sale" where any amount of money deposited from now until April 15th will receive the rate of 4.75%

So, that would result in a "blended" rate of the new deposits (until april) and the current rate of 3.80%

I guess they really want to grab their customers back
