IF you

Make at least 10 debit card transactions monthly (excluding ATM transactions)
Receive one direct deposit or ACH auto debit monthly
Receive your monthly statement electronically (e-statement)
Access on-line banking at least once before month end

You will earn the 6.01% APY every month on balances under $25,000 (or 1.01% on balances over $25,000)

BUT should you not meet the requirements one month, you will only get .25% APY. Each billing cycle you have a chance to earn 6.01% by meeting the requirements.

In addition, they're offering ATM fee refund, free online bill pay, and overdraft privilege.

You can sign-up online, the minimum deposit is $100.

Any word about existing customers? Do I have to close my account with them and open a new one to get in on this?

You shouldn't have to close your account or anything. Their site says you can convert your existing account into a Turbochecking account without having to change your account number or getting a new card issued. You can do it in person at one of their bank locations, or you can go here and sign into your account.
