It is not a very good deal because ShareBuilder does not pay for the transfer fee for transferring your current brokerage account to Sharebuilder. Once you decide to transfer your brokerage account to Sharebuilder, your current brokerage firm charges you a fee. It is not worthy once time and trouble for just transferring the account to get up to $100.00. Always do your math before you take action.

Optionsxpress accesses $50 for outgoing account transfer. So if you have an account with them and you close the account, then you will have to pay them $ 50. So watch out for, I guess what they call, Outgoing Account Transfer fee.

I heard that Scottrade does not change a fee for transferring a Scottrade account to another brokerage. I do not know how reliable this info is. If it is, you could try to open a Scottrade account and then transfer it to ShareBuilder, assuming that the ShareBuilder offer is still going by that time.

Indeed, there is no Transfer Out/ Account Closing Fee at Scottrade.
