Quick note:

I can not recommend Bank CaroLine to high-income customers because APY of its checking and money market accounts is lower than APY you can get in other online banks

I can not recommend Bank CaroLine to low-income customers either. Its Online Checking account does not offer free bill payment. It does offer $6 of ATM rebates per month though. Bank CaroLine Interest Checking offers 15 free bill payments and $12 ATM rebates per month. But it requires too high minimum balance ($2500) to avoid $10 monthly fee. CaroLine Checking offers unlimited ATM rebates(?) and free bill payment, but requires $5,000 minimum balance to avoid $15 monthly fee.

Several online banks offer similar services without monthly fee or with lower account balance requirement to avoid a monthly fee (State Farm Bank, Farm Bureau Bank, Bank of Internet, etc). If you can keep $500 average monthly balance in your account, you may also want to consider the interest checking account of First Internet Bank of Indiana with $500 minimum balance requirement that offers free bill payment, ACH-in transfers, e-bills, email alerts, and ATM rebates.

Conclusion: there are online banks around that have much better checking products than checking accounts at Bank CaroLine.
