Opened a performance checking account with Farm Bureau Bank.
I have to say that their CSRs are nice and knowledgeable.
During normal business hours, they reply an email in one or two hours.
Mailed external account application several days ago,and today I can set up ACH transfer ,that's amazing.
everything goes smoothly so far.
btw, their performance checking account is very attractive: free ACH in/out, free billpay, free first order of checks(with billpay, who need these checks?),no minimum requirement,no service fee. Up to five monthly ATM fees reimbursed. If you choose e-option, the interest rate is higher(higher than most other free checking accounts. Btw, don't tell me presidential is 3% now. ).

I have a FBB checking account for ~ three years, have never had any problems except account balances reported by its ancient online banking software (see more details here).

Thanks for the sharing.
You know, when I asked how good farm bureau bank is on FW,most guys there told me that Farm bureau is horrible because of the bait/switch story on their credit card years ago. but, by now, it seems that I made a right choice.

I agree. FBB offers one of the best nationwide free checking accounts in US. It does not have free overdraft protection, ebills, external account aggregation and bill payment via Quicken/MS Money though. But I believe that these are less essential features of an online bank than free bill pay, free in and out ACH transfers and ATM rebates. You can use my.compassweb.com for account aggregation and mycheckfree.com for ebill service after all.
