This is most likely a locacl deal but there is a chance that they allow to open an account by mail or phone. If you are interested, you will need to contact the bank and ask if you can open an account without visiting a branch.

Thanks for posting this info sandi108! I have corrected the OP to reflect this term of the Landmark Checking account.

It may be still possible though that both a non-internet banking account and the Landmark Checking account can be opened by mail. Somebody would have to contact the bank and find an answer to this question.
