3.31% WT-Direct Savings -- Wilmington Trust

08 August 2008 - 05:06 PM

WTdirect Savings account from Wilmington Trust has kind of tricky terms. As I understand it:

For the first 60 days after account opening, you can earn 3.31% APY on any balance more than $1.

BUT

Beginning 60 days after account opening, only balances more that $10k will earn 3.31%. Balances less than $10k will earn only .50% APY.

-No fees
-No minimum deposit to open
-No checking account required

QUOTE
-Our competitive online savings rate is consistently among the top 5% of U.S. banks.* Balances of $10,000 or more earn our highest rate, unlike some banks that lower their rates when your balance gets too high.
-We don't require a large immediate deposit. We'll give you two months to try us out and build your balance – all the while earning our highest rate.
