#24078 Using your assets

Posted by SuPrince on 05 August 2008 - 12:35 AM in General

I've read about quite a few incidences where people claim to have used their assets (rather than their income) to get approval for new lines of credit or credit limit increases. For instance, sending in brokerage statements when a financial institution wanted to review pay stubs or tax returns. Or making a deposit in a savings or checking acct and then getting almost instant approval for credit with that bank.

I'm interested in similar experiences, since it might be easier for me to prove assets rather than income. Which banks have you tried this with and what were the results? From what I've been reading, some of them will consider your deposits with them, some will even consider your deposits with other financial institutions, and others won't care about your assets at all.

You shouldn't have to close your account or anything. Their site says you can convert your existing account into a Turbochecking account without having to change your account number or getting a new card issued. You can do it in person at one of their bank locations, or you can go here and sign into your account.

Hope this helps. happy.gif

#24071 Chase Rewards promotion (exp. Sept 30)

Posted by SuPrince on 03 August 2008 - 06:41 PM in General discussion

According to forum-goers on SlickDeals, Chase is offering the following rewards promo to some card-holders.

Normally, you can redeem 3,000 points for a $25 gift card for a participating store, but some customers will be able to redeem only 2,000 points for a $25 gift card for Amazon or Macy's. Members on SlickDeals have had varying experiences with this promo, some have qualified and others have not, but the reason is unclear. It may depend on which card you have and which reward programs you are enrolled in, so "your mileage may vary" with this deal.

They're also offering increased points when you make purchases with certain companies, such as 15 points per $1 at LandsEnd.com and 4 points per $1 at Dell.com.

You'll have to Log On to the Chase Rewards Plus page to see if this promo applies to you.
