Your business credit line will be based on your personal credit, not your company's. The only way you can get a credit line for a business that you are not the resposible party is to have your company rated by S&P or have a business that has been in buisness for 4-6 years with provable income in the 7 figure range. Otherwise the banks require an individual to be the responsible party.

Trying to figure out ways to accumulate large sums of 0% interest credit.
I am not a business owner but have seen conflicting information regarding whether or not it is still possible to apply for and initiate a business credit card from the likes of Amex, Citicard, Chase etc.
Have a relatively high credit rating and have leveraged that against large amounts of credit in my own name but seem to have maxed out what i am able to accomplish in my name alone. Looking for additional ways to drum up credit and the business credit line idea is intriguing.
Any ideas, suggestions or additional feedback is much apprecitated.

Interest accrues the day you do the balance transfer unless you have a 0% deal for X months. WAMU is notorious for offering 0% balance transfer rates for X months in their mailers, and then don't give the 0% apr if your credit is not perfect. That happened to my girlfriend, she got the mastercard but they did not give her the 0% apr on the balance transfer. When she called them they said sorry, you did not qualify. Of course the offer they mailed her said 0% apr for X months on the cover of the envelope.

I just got a wamu credit card that has no fee for balance transfers, but it does have a 10% apy on balance transfers.

My questoin is after I make a balance transfer does the interest start accuring that instant? or do I have until the end of the month to pay off the transfer in full and not get any interest fees.

I ask because I could do a 10,000 balance transfer to my self take the 10 grand but it in a 5 % account for the month and then keep the 42 dollars in interest i would get.

In Topic: 6% 13 Month CD at WAMU with BUMP?

31 August 2006 - 02:02 PM

I got 6% yesterday, but the offer in Texas ends today. 08-31-06 Asked how the "bump" feature works and was told if rates rise you get to a one time shot to request an increase to match the prevailing rate. Sort of vague, but better than nothing.

Just called my local wamu branch in northern California. The deal is still available, but the APY is down to 5.85% here.

Called WAMU (Washington Mutual Bank) today here in Houston, asked them about rumor about 6% CD. Rep said yes 6% for 13 months, last day to purchase August 31, 2006. happy.gif

Check must come from a different bank. Asked if I transferred funds from ING to my WAMU checking would that be OK... nope! Must be check from another bank to open 6% CD. Anyway she goes on to say that the 6% rate has a bump feature and if rates increase, they will bump up the rate too.. not sure what the trigger is though. cussing.gif

Also asked if the CD was callable, and she said no. All is good. happy.gif

Minimum $1000 with $100,000 max to be insured FDIC unless you have a joint account then more?

Figure % rates will probably go up, but 6% now is better than 5%ish around in the MM's.
