#3058 UFB pays 3.3% & ATM reimbursements

Posted by adityanm on 14 April 2005 - 06:12 PM in Savings and Money Market Rates

QUOTE(markber @ Apr 11 2005, 02:30 AM)
Do you have an UFB Direct account by any chance? I am curious about its ACH transfers.

I just opened my account today.
I was mistaken. They do not initiate ACH transfers.
They have since increased the ATM refunds to $6.

They do have free UPS service to make a deposit to the account and
free printing of checkbook.

#2605 3.5% 3-month promo rate from Everbank

Posted by adityanm on 25 March 2005 - 02:59 AM in Checking rates

QUOTE(scottjm @ Mar 23 2005, 10:24 AM)
Can be a pain to go thru the work of opening an account like this  if your main goal is just to park money then see rate drop after the promo period ends. What I did when I opened with Ever Bank last year was to just move most of the money to a CD with them that is easy to do since they already have your info and I don't add another 1099 to my big stack that drives my account crazy.

Just 3 months @3.5% is not enough but you can close after 3 months and get another $50 or keep the account open for foreign currency account which pays much higher. You cannot open currency account without the checking account.

QUOTE(rockjr @ Mar 14 2005, 03:14 PM)
I just received a letter of refusal from PNC Bank today.  They claimed that because of the Pastriot Act they were not allowed to open an account for me.  They informed me that my check was not cashed.

Too bad for you. I have never heard that before.

I opened my account with a deposit from Credit card and it has since been
charged.

There is no minimum balance required for digital checking as long as you have a direct deposit.

There does not appear to be any condition but you will get $101 only after first statement that shows direct deposit and bill payment.

I finally got everything in and account is open. I need to set up my direct deposit. They also called me and wanted to know why i wanted to open my account. I told them i was moving to pittsburgh i live in buffalo now

Their prcocedure is very archaic as they want signature cards by snail mail.
I have not received my signature card which they mailed about a week ago but my account is still active. In order to conduct ant external transfers I need to send a signed authorisation by mail which I will send when PO delivers the signature card.

They did not ask me why I wanted to open an account but it is obvious i.e.
higher int rates.

T was talking about the condition to fullfil their direct deposit requirement.

It is doubtful that a deposit of $1 would be enough to avoid their service charge.
View Post

I called the bank and found the answer myself.
Minimum DD and bill pay is $25 per month which is within the paypal limit of $500.
I will withdraw funds from some other bank to pay pal and then deposit into PNC account.
$101 is not a bad deal for a little work and I opened the account today.
They even allow opening of account from Credit card up to $100. @1% that is an additional $1.

I'm not sure. Since the Paypal verification amounts are both less than one dollar, I wouldn't think so.

#1433 $5 COMMISION

QUOTE(jpsmoney @ Feb 23 2005, 04:11 PM)
I know, I have an account at Freetrade right now wink.gif .  They do charge you $25 to transfer an account in if it's worth less than $25,000.  But hey, as long as you make 5 trades ever, you'll break even vs. IZone!  Let me know what you think if you do open an account, I like it so far myself, but I've only made one trade so far.

You just contradicted yourself. Not every one makes 5 trades a month but you have to pay for trasfer of funds to/from.
Secondly, even with >25k, they will not charge for transfer but the other account from which you get the funds will charge more than $25.

#1138 Emigrant Bank

Posted by adityanm on 31 January 2005 - 04:31 PM in General

QUOTE(Lori @ Jan 17 2005, 10:57 AM)
I signed up as well.    I verified my deposits so far to make sure the ach debit part is working .  Now waiting for my account numbers via mail....  They should do it more like ING bank where they send the account numbers via email but I guess for security purposes they are sending via regular mail.
View Post

If you were a little smarter then you did not have to wait for regular mail which does not have any additional information.

I could see my account number from the other bank site from where they withdrew my initial deposit.
I was able to operate my emigrant account the very next day.

#1137 3.01% free checking from Iberville Bank

Posted by adityanm on 31 January 2005 - 04:24 PM in Checking rates

This offer is no-go.
It requires you to use their debit card 10 times a month to earn interest and that too
on $10,000 only.
Nothing so far can beat emigrant direct.

#1058 Seems there is a bug in your home page

QUOTE(markber @ Jan 15 2005, 03:27 PM)
If you get any errors when your browser crashes, could you please post them here? It may help me to identify what part of the home page code causes the problem. I have tested iBankDesign with IE6.0, Netscape, Firefox, Opera, Mozilla, Konqueror and have never had any problems. Without having a browser that crashes, it would be difficult to fix anything.

Since I can attach a file directly here is a to the message that I get when I
try to open your home page in IE6.

#1052 Seems there is a bug in your home page

I cannot access this site with IE6 as it kills the browser.
Only way I am accessing it is with Firefox.
Has any one else come across this problem?
In any case I suggest webmaster to look into the code and fix it.
