#8487 Tell ING that its rate sucks! (use this web form)
Posted by ABOUTBENS on 06 August 2005 - 01:37 AM in General
Link to ING Direct feedback form.
There are currently 34 banks that offer savings/MM account with rates better than savings account of ING Direct (see http://ibankdesign.c...?showtopic=540)
If you complete this form and tell ING Direct that its rate sucks, you will increase your chances to get a better rate no matter in what bank you keep your money.

Their checking account is now at 3.75% APY with direct deposit
Have you had direct experience with this bank? Is the online sign-up easy, and the customer service afterwards good?

ING may not have the highest rate right now, but their focus on security and customer service still puts them at the top for me. The $25 bonus just makes it just that much better!!!

#8820 ING 5/1 ARM 5.90% APR, $555 Closing Costs
Posted by ABOUTBENS on 24 September 2005 - 02:41 PM in Online banks
Countrywide 6.335%
ETrade 6.210%
Bank of America 6.144%
E-Loan 6.321%
Obviously the larger your mortgage the bigger the difference the 5.900% would save you. I've purchased two homes with the closing costs being $2000 or more, so the flat fee of $555 for closing costs seems to be a good deal as well.

#8485 How many bank accounts do you have?
Posted by ABOUTBENS on 06 August 2005 - 01:18 AM in General
By active accounts I mean accounts that are currently open.
(Not counting bank accounts you closed in the past)
I have 4.
I'm tempted to open a few bank accounts to get the sign-up bonuses but did not have the time.
Wondering how many sign-up bonuses you all did and how many bank accounts you currently have.

#17952 Capital One Savings & Money Market =Good Deal!
Posted by ABOUTBENS on 18 October 2005 - 09:03 PM in General
I have been very happy with my Capital One Savings and Money Market accounts! It's very easy to use online and the ACH transfers seem to be quicker than some of my other accounts. I have 4 external links set up right now, and all transactions have gone great. I recently set up my car loan, house payment, and student loan to be auto debited from my savings account. Since these are generally my 3 biggest monthly payments, I just leave a small amount in my regular checking and earn a good interest rate on my savings account (currently 3.75%). The only complaint I have is that you cannot "internally" link your savings and money market accouts, you have to do an "external" link like all the other accounts (it's therefore not an immediate transfer). Otherwise, I have been very happy with them and would highly recommend them to anyone. Side note- I was attracted to Capital One because I purchased my car with their "blank check" program, and was extremely pleased with it! If you're considering a vehicle purchase, new or used, it's worth checking out their website for info on this!
